Movies I used to hate as a kid but now like them as an adult

  1. Star Wars and Harry Potter- I used to dislike these two movie franchises when I was an unruly kid because each time my parents told me to watch them and I refused to with anger. But nowadays as I became mature and rational at the age eighteen. I appreciate Star Wars for it’s epic scenes, historical significance and memorable characters (like from Luke Skywalker throughout Darth Vader). I also appreciate Harry Potter for it’s excellent writing, character’s struggles and touching scenes.

2. Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland- This movie used to freak me out when I was eight years old because of the uncanny valley. But until I first watch the movie in theaters. It was all right and then as I grew older. I like this movie because it was delightfully creepy that is surreal and whimsical. Even by Tim Burton standards. My favorite character from Alice In Wonderland is Cheshire Cat. I like the design of this character it was somewhat cute with it’s whimsically uncanny smile and I like it’s color scheme. I know that Johnny Depp played as The Mad Hatter. Yes I remember I used to have a crush on Johnny Depp when I was at High School.

3. Mars Attack!- I know! Some Tim Burton films almost a lot of times used to weirded me out when I was a kid. I first watched Mars Attack on TV at the age of seven and it freaked me out. Because of the martian‘s designs and the concept of alien invasion. As I became eleven years old, I don’t think this movie is that bad. I personally think this movie is OK. It’s just Tim Burton’s first attempt on creating a Science Fiction film. This movie also pays homage to 50s b-graded Sci-Fi films.

5. Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy- This movie used to weirded me out and make me feel awkward when I first watched it when I was five. By the second time I watched it as a pre teen, I enjoyed it! Because I like how this Science Fiction film has it’s absurd sense of humor and how wonderfully bizarre it is. However, I am such a big fat fan of surreal humor! My favorite kind of humor! Today, I personally think Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy is a really unique movie I have ever seen!
